Easter Weekend

Easter 2008

We had a great long weekend in Mass for Easter this past weekend. We went to lunch with Nonnie, shopped, visited with old friends, and had a yummy sushi dinner on Friday. Then on Saturday we played with cousins Sidney and Luke, visited with Nana Vera, and even colored Easter Eggs. Good old 91 yr old Nana was right in there with the kids, dipping eggs and laying down newspaper. Sunday the Sidlauskas side of the family came over for a great dinner and lots of fun. Ella and Drew really enjoyed being at Nonnie and Caca's house. They loved getting Easter baskets with new sunglasses, recorders and art supplies. Although, Ella was a little nervous that the mall Easter Bunny was lurking around after leaving the basket :) We love watching Drew climb into Caca's lap to read books and Ella loved driving the little car Unc bought the kids. The album above is all from Sunday, stay tuned for pics from the rest of the weekend.

Ella No Ba Ba Ba!!

I was the youngest of three and the only girl to boot. I endured endless amounts of teasing. I hated hearing, "Just ignore him!!" Well, my childhood experiences are already lost on Drew - no sympathy from me. Ella tortures him!! She has the innate ability, which I guess every oldest kid does, to tease the daylights out of him. She grabs his toys and runs, she touches him with her feet in the tub, she steals his food, but most of the time she just uses words.
"Drew, cheers?" holding her cup out at the table..."Ella, no cheers!" he responds...then she continues to say "Drew, Cheers?" until he is on the verge of tears. The more he protests, the more she keeps at it.
Other examples from today:
"Drew, horsey?" as she lays on the floor wanting him to sit on her. "Ella, no horsey!!"
"Ba Ba Ba" I think she was singing to herself, but once he started protesting she chased him around the house yelling "Ba Ba BAAAA!"

I try to tell him to ignore her, but he just doesn't get the concept yet. Despite all her teasing and torturing, my sweet little guy never fights back and continues to just love her, as the picture shows.

A month already?

Wow, how time flies when you are changing 25 diapers a day!! (actual tally from today) Tyler had his 3 month check up today and weighed in at a strong 13 lbs 6 oz. He smiles at any face that looks at him, including Ella's dolls. He is so close to laughing - I can't wait. He is only waking once at night and trying to nap better during the day. I love him to pieces. Drew is still playing music on instruments, household objects, silverware, dolls, sticks, etc. He started to make up some songs. Some of my favorites include: "Tyler eat, Tyler eat, Tyler EEEEAAAATTTT!!" "Mama, Daddy, Mama, Daddy, Mamaaaaaa!" He is also throwing in some dance moves and sometimes a big finish on one knee. Classic. Ella, ahhh my little Ella. She is going through a phase. What else is new? She sticks to me like glue and repeats most of what I say. She also has decided that she will no longer talk to people she doesn't know and some she knows (sorry Uncle G). She lets us know this by screaming "No Hi!" when someone approaches her. This may be followed by 30 sec to 10 min of crying. Im hoping to channel this flair into a successful child acting career. On the upside, she is absolutely enjoying her friends and has become the ringleader. It is so funny to watch her make up silly games in the park and laugh with the girls. She also is behaving so well, listening to directions, helping around the house, and sharing like a champ.

For Sale

Lovely 2 bedroom condo including hardwood floors, plenty of storage, and two and a half silly kids.

How we Ride

The 3rd seat is mounted and we are in business. I thought for sure Drew would be the one riding in the "Big Kid Seat" but after about 30 seconds on the first ride, he turned and said "Ella's Turn!!" So, in she went and she LOVES it! Sometimes she leans forward as if flying down the ski slope. She smiles at everyone and loves to play with her friends when they are strolling next to us. Drew hasn't been back in the seat since. We get a lot of comments, stares and the occasional point - but hey, I have never shied from attention :)
